I was forwarded this link this morning from comrade Ian Mortimer today...check it out. This past weekend we took one last trip to sandbanks for some kiteboarding. It was super cold out, and even snowed for a short time, but I was warm and toasty in my new level six drysuit! I’m the guy in the bright red, if you couldn’t tell:) Thanks to mike for shooting some great video. I think we had 9 riders total from ottawa (the majority on iTOMCO boards!!). Enjoy.

In the background, that there is Oregon. A beautiful state. pleasant in most ways, great wine, great folks, great gas prices, and most of all, great colors. I drove through the majority of the interior of the state, and then took 138 out from I-5 to 38 where I got to Reedsport, and then took the 101 down the coast all the way to San Francisco. Oregon Rules, I could end up there quite happily. Now back in Charlotte, training, and feeling good about it. I am getting work done, this is nice. The course has a fun configuration to it, and everything is going swimmingly, without swimming. I have been enjoying the local customs more lately, with increased frequency to my shooting, and looking at things longer with no real intention behind the stare. I have done a ton of laundry, literally i weighed it all out, and i have done 2,000 lbs of laundry. I have been lifting three times a week for as long as I can remember, and I can finally see a difference, not in myself, but on the numbers of the weights I use. That is exciting. Well, until something else Earth-Shattering happens, out.Last Saturday I revisited my inner roadie. For over a year now, this was one side of athletic identity left largely untouched. Although five years old now, my carbon fiber Kestrel Talon is still a great road bike, a joy to ride. Today, I again exercised my bike. These were both actually scheduled days on my training plan for rest.

I am very proud to be a Clean Air Champion. I strongly believe that we, as a global society, need to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions to stifle the effects of global warming. However, I find myself at a bit of juncture. You see this past week was unseasonably warm for November. We had temperatures ranging from 15 - 22 Celcius! Since we are still training on the water, this warm weather was very much welcome, I loved it. Although I am no climatologist or environmentalist, I was informed that this warm weather was/is a result of global warming. So, where do I stand?Hi everyone,
As most people have noticed, I haven’t updated the website in ages, so I thought it was about time. Alot of people have been asking me about if iTOMCO is still up and running.
The short answer is yes. I am still building boats, but in a much different way.
After building many boats over the last 2 years, I have come to the realization that building slalom boats in general is not profitable. This is a combination of factors: no cheap quality labor is available in north america, the market for slalom boats in north america is very small, and boats must be redesigned every year or two adding huge capital costs every year.
That being said, I enjoy building boats and get great satisfaction seeing them compete all over the world. As such, I will continue to design and build boats as long as there are great athletes like Benn Fraker and Nathan Davis that enjoy pushing the limits of slalom boat design as much as I do. I will however be cutting back on the number of boats, and concentrating on achieving the highest quality in every boat, as well as pushing the limits on boat manufacturing methods.
Thank you to everyone who has supported iTOMCO the last few years. Paddle hard, train smart, and see you on the water!
Tom

Well, I thought last night when I was paddling back home after my whitewater loops session that I had worked harder then I had thought - I was getting cold in my short sleeve top. Impossible, I concl
